A crystal filmed in motion is not the same object as a photographed crystal. That is precisely the point of professional mineral specimen videography. Shifting reflections, rotating light and the true three-dimensionality of a specimen are dimensions that only video can faithfully capture. Neither photography nor the naked eye can fully match this experience.
Equipment Tailored to Each Specimen
We adapt our equipment to the size and nature of each specimen. Small and medium minerals are filmed on a turntable. For smooth, cinematic movement, we work with a traveling rail. Larger pieces benefit from a jib crane, which allows overhead shots that reveal scale and depth. In every case, the camera movement is chosen to serve the specimen, not the other way around.
What You Get
We shoot up to 8K, depending on your needs and display format. Each video is edited and delivered ready to use, whether for your website, social media, an exhibition or a gallery. Duration and format are defined together in advance. Moreover, raw files can also be provided upon request.
Why Have Your Collection Filmed
Minerals are not made to be handled repeatedly. Heat, humidity and repeated contact each carry a risk for fragile or rare specimens. Videography therefore lets you present your collection from every angle, without touching a single piece.
Furthermore, a video constitutes a valuable reference document for insurance purposes. It provides visual proof of the condition and value of each piece, with faithful representation of its dimensions and visual characteristics.
How It Works
Before any shipment, we plan the project together: specimens involved, desired movements and delivery format. This allows us to provide a precise return date before you ship anything. You can either send your specimens directly to our studio, or we travel on-site for large collections. In both cases, your specimens are handled and stored with the greatest care throughout their stay at the studio.
