Minerals Folio was created to meet a simple yet crucial need: providing collectors with a reliable, elegant, and secure way to manage their mineral collections. Designed with and for collectors, this web-based platform offers automatic classification by mineral type, family, and chemical composition, along with secure storage for important documents like purchase invoices or insurance files.

It also gives you access to your entire collection anytime, from anywhere — whether you’re on your computer at home or browsing your minerals on your phone during a show or a field trip. Share selected specimens privately or publicly, and enjoy high-quality visuals of minerals that cannot be handled or exposed to light for conservation reasons. Whether you’re a passionate private collector or a museum curator, Minerals Folio helps you organize what matters — and keep the rest protected.

Meet the Team

Minerals Folio was born from a real-world need, observed firsthand by Charles Camarda while working closely with mineral collectors. Initially asked to photograph private collections and design dedicated websites, Charles quickly saw a deeper issue: collectors needed a simple, elegant, and secure way to organize and access their collections online.

From that insight, the idea for Minerals Folio emerged — a platform tailored to the unique needs of mineral enthusiasts. To bring it to life, Charles reached out to an old friend, Jonathan Ipsaro, a crystallographer and experienced developer with a deep understanding of both scientific rigor and technical infrastructure.

Charles Camarda – Founder, Visual Designer & Communication Lead
With a background in photography, visual communication, and digital design, Charles brings both the aesthetic vision and practical knowledge of the collector’s world.

Jonathan Ipsaro – Crystallographer & Lead Developer
A scientist specializing in structural biology and crystallography, Jonathan developed strong programming skills to support his own research, including the creation of a lab management system. He now leads the development of Minerals Folio’s backend, ensuring a robust, scalable, and secure platform.
