Minerals Photography does not stand alone. Behind this specialized service is Camarda Visual Studio LLC, a visual communication studio based in Farmington, Connecticut, active for over twenty-five years across photography, videography and web design, working with clients ranging from scientific institutions and universities to luxury wine estates, restaurants, dance companies and film productions.
Camarda Visual Studio LLC: the Studio Behind Minerals Photography
Camarda Visual Studio LLC is a visual communication studio founded by Charles Camarda, based in Farmington, Connecticut. The studio works across industries and scales, from a single portrait session to a full institutional communication campaign, with the same approach: controlled lighting, tailored process, results that match what is actually in front of the lens.
Minerals Photography was born from a simple observation. Mineral collectors have very specific visual needs. General photographers are not set up to address them. Lighting logic differs. Backgrounds differ. A specimen’s response to a given light angle cannot be predicted. It has to be worked out, piece by piece. For that reason, Camarda Visual Studio built this dedicated service around those constraints.
A Broad Client Base, One Standard
The Camarda Visual Studio portfolio spans a wide range of sectors and clients. Among them: Yale University, The Jackson Laboratory, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Weill Cornell Medicine and the University of Connecticut for scientific and institutional photography. Wine estates in Burgundy, luxury restaurants and hospitality clients for commercial and editorial work. Dance companies, game productions, film and streaming projects for creative assignments.
Private collectors are part of that picture too, including Rock Of Science, an interactive mineralogical catalog designed and maintained by Camarda Visual Studio for a private collector. Minerals Photography grew directly from that work.
Camarda Visual Studio Services
Three core service areas, available individually or in combination.
Professional photography covers institutional, scientific, event, product and collection work. Each project starts with the same question: what does this subject actually look like, and what does it take to show that accurately?
Videography ranges from institutional shoots to 8K productions. Equipment is chosen for each situation: turntable, traveling rail, Edelkrone jib crane. Videos are edited and delivered ready to use, for communications, social media or archival purposes.
Web design This is the same expertise behind the mineral collection websites offered by Minerals Photography, and behind every other web project the studio delivers.
One Team
Working with Minerals Photography means working with Camarda Visual Studio. Whether the project involves a mineral collection or a broader assignment, institutional, commercial or editorial, it is the same people, the same standards. Minerals Photography is not a side activity. It is the expression of a specific expertise, rooted in a studio that has made visual quality its core business for over twenty-five years.
